I'm in the process of bringing my bike out of mothballs, after finally fixing the dead cylinder issue I was fighting for a while. I was pulling the front wheel and noticed that there are mounting points on both forks for a brake caliper, which got me thinking... Was there an option for dual front disks on this bike? If so, was it at all common? I wouldn't think it would be on a bike this light, but I thought I'd ask, 'cause you can never have enough braking, especially hauling a bulky guy like me!

No there was never a dual setup BUT many vintage Kaw parts will bolt up. Keep in mind that twin disks will mean additional unsprung weight which will certainly over tax the shocks if you intend on really pushing the limits. That said, I found that a front wheel, disks and plumbing from a 1300 fit just fine on my 1978 KZ750 Twin.
