El Cheapo solution: A 7/8 inch piece of appropriate PVC pipe installed on top of the springs.That will put the lead back in the pencil without breaking the bank.This is what Progressive recommends on the installation of new springs in the forks by the way.Lol.bj

Well my top race came out rather easy compared to the bottom 5-6 good taps and voila, just like butter.

Ok, I'll have a look at that file. Are the 900's and 1,000 similar enough for the manual to be good for both?

I have a frankenbike so I kinda need information for the J model as well (since I have a J motor):evil: Then there is supposedly 1100 heads on it. wtf!

Well I wouldn't want to try to get these new races out. I put the top one in and it is flush with the inside unlike the old ones that had a lip that stuck out for you to get ahold of.

Found a Shop Manual for the KZ1000/1100 here it is:
