kz1300 triple trees
13 Jun 2011 17:44
I have a 79 kz1300 ,I am wondering ,will a kz1000 ltd style upper triple clamp work with my pre-existing front end ie. same fork diameter and spacing . I really want a round headlight and a speedometer that reads more than 85mph. I saw an 81 kz1000ltd that had the exact setup I wanted.

The KZ1000 and the KZ1300 are not even close. The 1300 forks are much larger and wider also.

so... If I come across an entire kz1000 front end it will swap over to my 1300 . I really dont mind taking away from the width of my front forks, though,Im not sure what adverse effects it may have on the suspension .

That bike is way too heavy to have a narrower front end. You couldn't even mount your front wheel and you would hit your gas tank with the trees when you turn.
