Just out of curiosity, what problems are you having with the stock forks?

I am presuming that you have the leading axle fork design. Meaning that the axle is mounted to the front of the fork tube and not underneath it. This design was intended for effortless straight line highway cruising. What you require is a fork setup from a 81-82 KZ1000J. I did the same thing to my KZ1000 CSR. I had the same problem. By installing the "J" forks it made the bike handle much better. The "J" forks are a direct swap but you must also use the "J" rotors and caliper mounts. You can also use 1982-2005 police forks but you will still require the "J" or GPZ rotors and calipers.

You might also consider a set of drop-in Progressive springs as a replacement to the stock springs...cheap and do-able on a Saturday afternoon.

An afternoon? It takes me about two hours to do a total fork rebuild.
