Lower rear shocks on a shaft drive Q?

If I lowered my rear would I need to worry about the shaft drive needing to be modified in any way?

That will all depend on just how far you're planning on lowering the rear shocks.
Lowering up to about 3" should be fine. Anything beyond that and it might extend the shaft / swingarm assy to it's max travel and cause damage (leaks, stripped studs, etc), not to mention the rear tire rubbing on the inner rear fender = $$$
