Front end and swing arm swap to a 80 KZ1000
06 Jun 2011 17:49
I want to do a newer front end and monoshock swingarm swap to my 80 KZ1000 and give it the streetfighter look, but want to make sure my donor parts will fit. I found a 93 ZXR 600 donor at a good price.
1) Will the front end and swingarm swap interchangeably from the 93 ZXR (I know I will have to fab for the monoshock)?
2) Are there exact swaps out there for/to the KZ1000 for front end and swingarm?
Thanks,
Chris-

It seems like most pieces are interchangable with about the same amount of fab work. You could add tabs to the top of the swing arm and use the stock or after market shocks. I used a ZRX750 swing arm that already had the traditional shock mounts.
If you found a good deal on the ZXR 600, use it, nice to have all of the parts like brakes, axles, wheels, fenders as this stuff adds up quick.
