another rookie mistake....grrrrr

i was changing the rear wheel bearings on my 1980 kz 750 h1. I put one side in and ofcourse started to put the other side in and forgot to put the spacer that goes in between the bearings in. so i was beating out the one side with a chisel from the other side, and i booger up the rim as shown in the picture. Is this rim any good still? I need some opinions on this one guys please. man i hope i dont have to buy a new rim.

why did you have to put the axle bolt in before installing new bearing?

im sorry wireman....meant the spacer that goes in between the bearings inside the hub that the axle slides thru. i edited the post.

if its only the chips that seem to be what i see i wouldnt be scared to use it. if its worse than it looks i might have a 16" like it in the garage

Not trying to be a wise guy, but next time use one of these instead of a chisel; much less chance of damaging anything:
