OK to use O-ring chain on a KZ250?

Is it OK to use an O-ring chain on my 1980 KZ250?

It fits and clears just fine, but an O-ring chain fits my CB500, too, and they're known to chew up the cases on SOHC Hondas.
I checked my service manual and it didn't say anything one way or the other.

o-ring chain will be fine.if your cases are getting chewed up(on anything)you have a clearance problem that needs addressed.o-ring or non o-ring should not matter as long as everthing has clearance.

Thanks, Leon.

The SOHC Hondas have clearance issues on the case with an O-ring chain. Chews right through the case in front of the sprocket on 500's, 750's and maybe a couple of others.

Just wanted to make sure I didn't make the same mistake on the little KZ.
