Okay, I found an old post about this, but the cat never seemed to get his issue worked out, so I'm trying again...

I'm trying to buy shocks - the last big thing keeping me off the road - for my spectre. Z1E had nothing showing for my bike, niether did the progressive site. Looks like the old showas are 13", but the 13" series 12 shock doesn't list for my bike. The studs are approximately 17/32" or 13.5 mm., and the diameter of the shock itself is roughly 2 5/8".

Has anyone done this switch before, and if so, what worked? I don't have to have progressive, but that's what I want. Any help at all would really be nice.

Thanks,
purls

My suggestion would be to phone Z1E. They are both knowledgeable and helpful.

Good luck

Progressives come with different sized inserts for the eyelets.B)
Any 12.5" or 13" 12 or 13 series shock will fit up,just pick your spring rate.

I did some figuring and measuring, and, with the help of Chris from Z1E, we decided progressives would work. Those cats are awesome. Thanks for the help.

For future reference, the gap in parts listing for my model is just a glitch due to the fact that my model came stock with Showa air shits. Progressives work the same on sprectres as on any other 750.

I may have my bike running by Sunday. It woulda been a ton harder without this forum, and double thanks to you, Martin CSR - I know you've been looking out for me, and it's been a great help. I'm so confident about what I've accomplished that I'm already looking around for something old and more challenging. I'm on KZ from now on.

peace,
purls
