Passeneger foot peg damper was created by apbling
I have a 1980 750-4 LTD that the left rear passenger footpeg vibrates to the point where your left foot goes numb very quickly. I've checked the part diagrams and even my 82 550 LTD and none of them have dampers on it. I can't find the vibration at all either. SO, I was wondering if anyone has any advice on making some dampers.
Thanks.

You ride with your feet on the passanger pegs!? Just kidding.

Where ever the pegs mount to frame/mount/etc, and anything in between that is a bolt, could use a nice homemade rubber washer or two cut from some cheap sheet rubber you can buy all over the place.

Mix up rubber washers between metal ones, and longer bolts, helps alot.

Cheers.

Ok, but should I try to "wrap" the bolt? The driver footpegs have a damper that wraps the entire bolt and fits snugly into the footpeg mount. I don't think I could make them work in the passenger ones, but maybe I could fab something similar...

and yeah, sometimes when you really give her a fistful and the front end comes up, you have to stand on the passenger pegs... :)

 What efforts have been made to quell the vibration? Torque motor mounts? Lube chain and check for kinks? Complete Tune-Up?

Good Fortune! :)

Chain is lubed and in good shape. It's been tuned up and runs like a top. The vibration is in the left passenger peg and is related to RPM. For example, you can feel the vibration when the bike isn't moving but you rev the motor. So, chain, sprocket and swingarm I think can be ruled out.

I'll try the motor mounts...never thought of that. Seems odd though that it would only be on the left peg if it was the motor mounts.

output shaft is on left side of motor so if motor is shaking it could be transmitted through chain /sprockets.
might also check output sprocket nut to make sure its tight under sprocket cover B)
