2.5' mini speedo

Hey guys, i have a 1998 YZF 600 front end on my 77 KZ, I need a speedo and I found this one at dime city:

How do I find out if it's the correct ratio for the yamaha speedo gear on the wheel?

The advert says -
*The speedometer ratio is 60MPH @ 2240RPM.

Measure the circumference of the front tire you will use then convert measurement to feet. (ie- 63 inches = 5.25 feet).
Divide that number into 5280 to get the rpm.

In this example we have 5280 / 5.25 = 1,005.7. Not even close.

I'm wondering if this speedo operates of the ignition system rather than off a wheel trigger since 2240 rpm at the wheel would necessitate an 8 or 9 inch diameter wheel and tire??
