Chain length was created by krayzrider
I have a 77 KZ1000 and I'm putting an extended swing arm on it. The swing arm is approximately 3 1/2" longer than stock. I currently have a 33 tooth rear sprocket and will be putting either a 35 or 38 tooth sprocket on. The manual says the stock chain link count is 92. I will replace the front 15 tooth sprocket as well with the same tooth count. Any thoughts as to how many links I should have on the new chain?

630 chain links are about 5/8"(.625) long, if I remember correctly.

You'll need 7" more chain for the extended swingarm(3.5"x2).

So that's 11.2 links. Not sure about the sprocket, but I would say to add a link per tooth over stock to be safe.

so that is 16.2 links. Might want to round it up one link to 17 over stock, but that is up to you.

So, you want a 108 or 109 link chain.
