Rearsets question was created by fordtruck
I've been searching through old posts about rearsets and see that they usually get in the way of the kickstarter. Are there any bolt on rearsets for a 77KZ1000 that don't interfere with the kickstarter?

I'm no expert, but I do have some fabricated rearsets on my bike. It seems to me that they are all going to interfere with your kicker if they are in any sort of normal rearset postition. Mine take up about half of the original kick start throw, but it's still workable. As long as your bike is not too hard to start, then the kicker can still work. Are you kick only at the moment?

When I was using the flipped stock pegs, I was able to fold the right peg up and it would stay there. Then I could get full stroke out of the kicker.

Just gotta remember to fold it back down before you ride away!

When I bought my Tarozzi's they told me that the foldable ones will clear a kicker. Ca'nt verify that though as I don't have a kicker.

Testarossa I have electric start, but its iffy. It has cranked over slowly since I bought the bike a few years ago. It has a new battery. I also made a new positive battery cable because the old one was hacked together. Now that I rebuilt the motor with high compression pistons, it's even worse. When the motor is hot it's really hard to get it to turn over. Once in a while I have to resort to kickstarting it. So, I either need to figure out why it turns over so slowly, or keep the kickstarter.

andy9802gt, I emailed Jim at FastfromthePast and he stated that none of the Tarozzi's will work with the kickstarter. I was hoping that the folding set would work. Can anyone confirm if the kickstarter will clear with the folding Tarozzi's?

You need to get in contact with mark1122. He retro-fit a stronger Honda starter to his bike for the very same reason. He's starting a built 1200cc motor with his setup, and I know that he removed his kicker. I'm sure that correcting your starter issue will be cheaper than a set of Tarozzi's that may or may not solve your problem. Not nearly as cool, but much more functional.

Don't forget to replace the Negative battery cable too, as it's part of the electrical system. I'm using 4 gauge welding cable as battery cables.

No I haven't. I did replace my starter with one out of my neighbor's parts motor. That fixed the slow cranking. I'd still like to keep the kickstarter as a backup. If you find out anything, let me know.

Is the installation of the Tarozzis straight forward? How is the fit and quality?

Thanks for the info. I fixed mine by swapping in a different starter.
