New Side Covers and Tail Light / Tag Relocated

What you think? I'm going crazy on my 80 KZ1000 LTD. It was missing a lot of parts, so I'm bobbing it.

Looks good to me. These CSR's and LTD's seems made to BOB. I'm doing a 650CSR right now. Start a project thread so we can follow the progress and maybe inspire others! Keep plugging!

What is that tail light? It looks like a headlight with a red lens. And what is your bracket bolted to? Passemger peg location?

The tail light is old 4" spot light, I found that matched my 5 1/2" headlight. I found a trailer lens that fit it and install a 1157 socket. It's bolted to the oem muffler bracket. I built the tag frame to mount with it. It's all in my price range, free.

Nice and innovative. In my area the cops will pull you for a tag mounted sideways. They will pull a whole pack at a poker run and start writing tickets for stupid stuff, sideways tag and loud exhaust are thier money makers. Looks cool on your bike.

I built them out of 11ga stainless (scrap I had laying around) did a 45 degree bend to kind of match the oem covers. I bolted them into the oem holes. Here's some pics before paint.

Same here and a separate ticket if the plate is not directly lit. Exhaust is $500 first ticket, $1000 second, $1500 third and for the fourth they guarantee there will be no fifth. They pretty much only do it if the rider is a jerk or are running straights. But get their attention with anything and you will fund the donuts and pizza parties for quite a while.

The light looks very old schoolish. I like it. Is it smooth enough you could stencil STOP inside it?

I'm thinking about adding a small led in the bottom of the tail to light the tag. I'll have to check on the side mount tag laws in my area.

Ok, you guys are right, tags got to be mounted horizontal in my state too. Crap, I like the look.
