The Z1 Caliper is unique to the Z1. The bolt spacing on the mount is different from the KZ calipers. The caliper bracket is not symmetrical - so you need a RH side bracket or modify the LH bracket
Thanks, Jeff. That is what I thought and I appreciate the confirmation. This may be a stupid question, but how would I modify the LH bracket to make it a RH bracket? I really don't want to pay the $100 plus for the stupid bracket from Z1E.

Let me just clarify that I have no problem with Z1E. I just don't want to pay $100 for a bracket (which they can legitimately charge because it is damn near non existent) because I'm too damn stubborn to swap out my lower forks or too hard headed to accept my single disc set up. I know I stuck my foot in my mouth big time on that last comment, but I did not mean it the way it came across on a re-read. My apologies for any insult (implied or stated) from my "speak first, think second" mentality.
OH believe me! You're certainly not the first one here!

I have a GPZ1100 Master (5/8, I believe) if you are interested. It will need rebuilt from sitting, but is in decent shape otherwise. I won't need it now that I'm sticking to my single disc set up...not positive if it will fit your drag bars or not.
got a pic ????

The kit included a matching right side caliper, and a matching rotor, and a larger 5/8" master cylinder, plus the necessary additional brake lines and fittings.
Perhaps such conversion would have been more popular had the cost not been almost half the price of a new Z1.

Wouldnt adding a modern sportbike caliper/rotor with a wider sweep area be the best conversion for braking? You could even use your stock MC right? Keeping the single rotor up front only larger. I see a lot of the kz superbike guys do it.
That would be ideal, but I'm trying to avoid fabrication work to my triple trees or anywhere else. Modern sportbike brake system installs usually require an entire front-end swap. I don't want to do that to my old Z1, but I'd like to pick up a garden-variety KZ 650 or 1000 basket case and build a 'fighter with an inverted fork front end (like OMR's AWESOME fighter build).

that way you can lower frontend just a little at same time, just make sure to lower rear to match
