? Whats the guy asking?

Totally depends... some guys love those bikes and will want $1500+, some dont care and just want to get rid of it for like $500.

Who knows...

It's worth what you're willing to pay.

You ask a difficult question. I know what I paid for mine (I bought two simultaneously) and I know what the pundits say they are worth based on condition. A picture of the bike in question is truly worth a thousand words at this time. Other factors that will play roles are (1) time of year, (2) location, and (3) number of mods. As a rule, the closer to stock, the more valuable...particularly with respect to paint and exhaust systems. HOWEVER, there are always exceptions to that rule. The NADA guide (oddly enough) is closer to reality than the other major guide (VJEMC) and gives a price range from about US$500 to US$2800, entirely depending on condition. This is fairly close to what I have seen KZ1000A1's sell for...I have also seen nice restorations with US$8000 price tags...and they sell. There are many many condition issues that impact price...we need more info than you have supplied to give you a decent estimate.
