1982 Kawasaki CSR 1000 Rear Shocks was created by thequam
I am in the process of slowly rebuilding my 82 CSR 1000 and I have moved to the rear of the bike which I intend to dissamble and powder coat black to go with the rest of the bike. I took the shocks off with hopes of taking them apart and paiting the coil spring, after looking at them and consulting the manual I've come to the conclusion that these can't be taken apart and I'm going to have to get different ones. They have the adjustable dampener on top and I can see no way to get them apart. If anyone had any experience with these I would appreciate some insight. Thanks.

They need to be replaced.
You can find a suitable substitute @ Z1 Enterprises
...and yes, the cheaper chrome shocks are a nice buy and work well.
