Mounting tabs on fork lowers was created by mtbspeedfreak
Hey guys, easy question for y'all:

What are the single mounting tabs on the fork lowers on the opposite side of the caliper mounting tabs???

I'm looking into a dual disc conversion and I'd invert the forks to swing the calipers around so they are underneath the lowers.

If it has tits or tires, it'll give you problems!

I believe they act like the rear brake torque link does. It prevents the caliper from rotating when brakes are applied.

Nothing is attached to these mounting tabs. I've seen a few instances where the tabs are actually ground off to make everything cleaner.

Z1R's had them also. Just a factory thing. Different models used them for a fender bracket.
Production parts, multi fit.
I have a set ground off. Then I just looked in my junk pile and seen them on opposite sides.

The KZ900-B1 LTD has dual front disks with rear mounted calipers. Plus dual brake lines (with tee fitting) and larger 5/8" master cylinder (instead of the 14mm m/c used with single disc). And a slightly longer speedo cable.
Am thinking LTD dual disks are slightly thinner.
Dual disc system adds some unsprung weight.

Good Fortune! :)

EXACTLY what I'm talking about!!! I think I saw them on dutchz's latest masterpiece as well.

What would go into inverting the forks? Just a longer speedo cable? You really wouldn't NEED a longer one, would you?

Those are on the back of the leg, why would you need a longer speedo cable?
