Will moving my seat back adversly affect handling?

This might be a dumb question, but here it goes. I am going to be putting a different seat on my KZ750. I was riding the other day when the temperature was up. I slid back about 4 or 5 inches on my stock seat. I was more or less sitting between the front and rear portion (on the hump). While the hump wasn't very comfortable, I liked the leg position that it gave me.

How will moving my seating position rearward affect handling? Looking at a profile shot of my bike, it would just about center the seat over the rear shocks.
