01 Mar 2011 17:25Did Lester make cast magnesium wheels too? I'm assuming the Morris mags and Enkei's are aluminium as well?

As long as I have the 6-bolt Z1 rotors, I can use a Z1 front Lester wheel on my KZ900, correct? The rotor/caliper spacing remains the same, just the bolt pattern is different- right?

yes on the rotor offset and the only thing is mix and match on the speedo drives and nuts to end up working with cable you have now and the speedo gear on your axle

Thanks for the reply Tri, I didn't think of the speedo stuff. So if I bolt up a Z1 front wheel to my KZ, the Z1 discs would work with my KZ calipers, but I wouldn't be able to swap the KZ speedo drive? Is the axle the same?

You'll need the Z-1 speedo drive (and discs)and the speedo drive will need to be machined down to center the wheel in the KZ forks (about 3mm). I dont remember the specifics (it was a long time ago) but you may need to make a new axle spacer for the other side also.

Are Lester's tubeless?
If I can make a normal spoked rim into a tubeless tire with a rim strip and silicone, why WOULDN'T they be?

Some folks may get by with doing so, but under certain conditions the tire may suddenly deflate, such as when hitting a large bump while leaned over in a curve with insufficient air pressure.
