Hi-- i joined this forum, got all revved up, and bought a 1979 kz650d frame, and an 03 gsxr750 front end. I have read all the gsxr/kz650 fork swap threads that i can find and i see two possibilities 1: I can use the triple tree stem off the gsxr in its entirety, just ordering new bearings from a place called all balls---or 2: I have to get a tree off a kz650, press out the stem, and press it into the gsxr tree. which one of these is accurate? I read someone was having problems getthing the kz stem correctly in the gsxr tree. ideally obviously id leave the gsxr front as is. I have to send out for any machining. this bike will have a custom jmc swingarm, both 00-03 gsxr wheels/brakes/clip-ons...thanks!!!

According to All Balls, one of the following bearing sets ought to work. No idea why there are five.

www.allballsracing.com/index.php/forkconvertion
Click on the "Find Fork Conversion Bearings" on teh left side and it will open another page that works.

I have no idea whether the stem is going to be the right length to work though.

I'm not 100% certain, but I believe all 650s up through at least 1980 have the same stem length.
