Speedo Cable was created by dms_photo
When I got my new bike, the speedometer had been taken off. I tried to put it on yesterday, but the cable won't stay inserted into the drive. On the drive end of the cable, there are 2 prongs which look like they just slide around a pin which is inside the drive. I can get it to go inside, but it just falls right out. How should this attach? Is there some other thing that should hold it in there?

there should be a threaded collar that screws onto the speedo drive to hold the cable in place

ahh, ok... I see it now. The previous owner apparently broke the colar off and it is still on the speedo drive. While trying to put the old cable on, I couldn't tell if something had been there or not. alright, off to order a new cable. Thanks for the help.
