Front fender remove was created by tirekicker
Hey everyone,

I'm looking to remove my front fender and run it with the bare tire. Will this be dangerous? Will it really take away from front end stability? I can't understand how such a small flimsy piece of metal can govern such a stability impact.

If you are worried about the stability aspect then remove the fender and install a fork brace. The biggest change that you will notice is the amount of water and road dirt that gets thrown by the front tire. Make sure that your brake lines don't rest on the tire when the fender is off.

If you decide to go fenderless, I'm looking for a fender like that! Is that an LTD fender, right?

You're kidding, right? Your bike looks GREAT with that fender, taking it off won't improve the looks. Additionlly, the mount under the fender serves as a fork brace. The biggest problem you will face is water, dirt, and other crap (sometimes actual crap) being thrown up into the engine, under the tank, under the steering stem (hope your bottom stem seal is good if you do this), etc. Also water spray will end up in your face depending on your speed. It may also be illegal in your state. I say these things from experience (including a ticket from a cop) because a while back I ran my BSA without a front fender for a couple months; I was happy to put it back on. Again, your bike looks really sharp. Ed

Would keep the front fender on hand to re-install just in case the bike's needed for riding to a job interview.

As noted by 650ed, the fender includes very substantial metal reinforcement underneath, which serves as a fork brace.

Good Fortune! :)

BJ, What would you want for that fender? I'm assuming it will fit my 750 LTD?
