ID this seat? was created by bloglos
Picked up a non running project bike which I'm currently, slowly trying to get fired up.. 77 KZ650B.
Does anyone know if this seat was some sort of option? I'm guessing it was some sort of after market option. It's very comfortable but fuuuugly, and that sissy bar.

B, In the day, Kaw. offered a LTD seat to replace the std flat unit. It was a ribbed stepped piece visually pretty much the same as the 900/1000 LTD seat. what you have is aftermarket & there were many...EZ Berg,(later Custom Contour saddles)made a seat which looks like what you have. If your' pan & present foam are salvageable, You might consider stripping off cover & carving foam to what you like & having an Upholsterer re-cover. or if handy, Look to Milwaulki (sp)Cycle for a cover & do your' own. luck G

If you plan on modifying the seat foam, an electric carving knife does a great job as the blades move in oposite direction not tearing the foam.

That is an aftermarket dealer option, probably on the original seat pan. Fairly common. Mine
Yes, kinda fugly, but it fits.
