Lowering a 1980 KZ1300B was created by HVYMTL
I recently purchased a 1980 KZ1300B (touring), and would like to know the best way to lower this mammoth beast at least a little bit. Does anybody have any suggestions? Lowering blocks, shorter shocks? Everything on the bike is original and probably either needs to be replaced or rebuilt anyway, so I'm not afraid to throw a little bit of money at it if I need to. Thanks!

Gorgeous bike. DO NOT ALTER IT! Wear high heels or grow longer legs.

Don't lower it too much or you'll be dragging the mufflers around every corner. The Kz1300B I ride is stock and I have enough trouble as it is, even when I hang off the bike some.

Thanks! I think I'll take your advice and keep it stock. I never see these on the road, and would hate to mess it up. At the very least I know I will have to rebuild the forks, because it sat for so long. The brake pads and rotors were completely oil logged. I'm looking forward to showing it off this spring- maybe with some very tall boots.
