anyone use bar end mirrors on their drag bars for the kz1000 ? The stock placement of the mirrors I am constantly having to lean or tilt my shoulders to see in the mirrors. Any pictures, suggestions would be much appreciated.

Thanks much !

I have no experience but hear that the bar end mirrors do allow better rear vision. Another option is to use under slung mirrors. That's what I have done on my bike. I did have to make my own mounting brackets, and you have to be cautious about placement so as not to hit the tank. My view to the rear is virtually un-impeded. Click the picture to enlarge.

Anyway...

Several manufacturers specifically prohibit bar end/underslung mirors, as they do not function/provide the headsup, unimpeded view as reg mirrors...

But I hate reg mirrors too!

Don't buy the cheapo bar end mirrors, they suck bad.

CRG makes a nice rigid product, and others. Look for a good solid connector/weight + they should cost a fair bit.

i have bar end mirrors and am very happy with the vision that i can get with them.way better vision than stock because, like you mentioned i don't have to move to see outta them.i bought the ones everyone said not to because they are screwed together from the inside then the glass is glued in.i figured for the price difference(100 bucks or so depending)that i could gamble.before i installed mine i sat them face down on a padded bar stool and used a center punch to stake the screws so that hopefully they would not loosen up.

Get the models that are designed with Anti-Vibration dampening and convex mirrors... Rotated slightly forward and up, no issues with blocked vision over arms.

You'll be surprised how heavy these little mirrors are with the weights in them....(Anti_vibration)

Benefits:
1) Very stable vision...
2) Less hand fatigue...
3) Easily 1-2 lane outside coverage...
4) Nice looks...

Here's the ones I'm using found at cyclegear.com
