quality machine shop

hey guys. i need a sleeve made for my swingarm. i called a local machine shop and was quoted 230 bucks to make a sleeve for my bike that has a the OD of my zx sleeve and the ID of my kz bolt. i would like to send my zx sleeve to a shop and have them make what i need. any suggestions? thanks

i did find 6061 aluminum solid thats 12" long, and 1 3/8" OD. could i drill the 5/8" hole in a lathe and cut down to length? its 10 bucks for a 12" piece.

8 13/16" long. i can cut holes in the frame to accept the zx pivot bolt.....not sure yet. i would have to cut a 1 1/4" hole in one side and a 1" hole on the other side of the frame. i may just go that route. ill have to do what adam did and weld a plate over my pivot hole so i can have a center for the hole saw. but then i need bushings made.

if you have lathe make OD what ever you need then drill the bushing for the bolt you need, dont drill frame holes

$230 jeez !! too bad ur not closer to where i live, my guy is VERY REASONABLE and damn good too) if u cant locate someone Ill check and see for ya, it would be next week before I could get over there.

yeah drilling the holes in the frame would create more work.

the "lathe" i have access too is basically a machine you put your material in and the material spins...the drill bit does not. this machine is ancient and this is just about all you could do with it.

swingarm mod yes....rip off...yes. lol

the only issue i have is on the pivot sleeves there is about 1.5" on each end that seems like it has a stainless cap for the bearings to roll on. could i remove the ones on the ones on the zx and press them on my fabricated sleeve?
