gas cap seal was created by hocbj23
82 KZ1000 with a problem with the gas cap seal (I think). When locking the cap, after it clicks in the closed position, there still appears to be gap between cap and surface of filler neck.Cap is correct for the tank,I have replaced the o rings on the mounting screws, filler neck is clean inside and out,cap has the correct gasket but it appears to be original. Is the gap normal? If not,any way to adjust the cap?I have had the cap apart, cleaned and lubed it and it works fine-just the gap issue.Thanks.bj

To confirm --- when reassembling, the o-rings fit against the tank.

Yessir.I checked this illustration to be sure I had it right.I have ordered a new gasket as I think thats the only part that would affect sealing properly. Thanks Patton.Happy Holidays.bj
