Any hints on removing a front sprocket without the chain on? that sucker's tight, and I can't figure out how to hold it to remove the nut. Is holding it with the chain the only option? thanks.

Impact gun with the chain on, or you can make a sprocket holder with a short piece of chain, a pair of vice grips, a welder and your imagination.
