master cylinder disassembly help was created by rf56
Have searched the forum for this info but can't seem to find it. I have a 1980 kz550 A-1 with single front caliper. Want to take apart the m/c but cant figure it out. Has the white "liner" with the cutouts holding it all in. Is a special tool required? Have shop manual and haynes type but they don't give info on disassembly. Thanks

I Have a 1982 GPz1100 B2 with(I believe) a similar setup. I turned the liner with needlenose pliers and then pulled it out of the master cylinder. Check your's for a spring clip or snap ring.

Well got the white liner thing out. Thought that held everything in. I don't see a snap ring unless it's behind the rubber dustcover. Is that it?
