Such an Elegant, Gorgeous bike! :cheer:

Handlebar color compliments both lettering and shocks.

Good Fortune! :)

Thanks Patton, I kinda like it myself! B)

I looked at the site, those bars look great on your bike.

My problem is they're only 31.5" wide, and I want at least 34".

I found several other bends on the site that were wider, but none that were just what I wanted.

I found these on ebay: cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...0534653239&viewitem=

The seller, frontstreetcycle, says he can do them for me in any length/bends I like.

I'm thinking I'll get the 35" wide. I can always cut them down if they're too long.

The thing I'm unsure of is the pulldown.

I'm pretty sure my Superbike bars have a slight pulldown, but I can't be sure.

The ProTaper site doesn't list pulldown.

Do your bars have a pulldown?

31.5" is on the bigger side for MX bars. You won't find them much wider than that, but some may feel they are a little short for a street bike.

But that's why I like them as turning feels sharper and more responsive. You can find a good comparison here:

The complete bend is more important than just the width alone. The bend really depends on how you sit on the bike, the length of your arms and how this all feels. For example, the Carmichael bend hangs much lower than most other bars, which means my arms stay lower and helps in keeping them from going numb on longer trips. Also, they are 1 1/8" bars. The bars in your link are 7/8" - this makes a difference.

I've got a 650 as well and for me, 35" bars on a mid size bike would feel too big. Just my 2c. :)

Again, if they're too wide, I can always cut them down. If they're too narrow, there's nothing I can do.

OK, so if my bars have a 4.75" pullback at 29" wide, what pullback will I need at 34" wide to replicate the bend?

Also, does anyone know what pulldown (if any) those Ricky Carmichael bars on MentalMike's awesome ELR have?
