So, I have a set of Superbike bars on my bike. I love them.

The only problem I have is the mirrors are useless. I got a pair of mirror extenders, and they work, but they look terrible.

Now, I know all about bar ends, etc, but that's not the way I want to go.

It's occurred to me that if I could find a set of handlebars with the same bend as the superbike bars, but 32-33" wide, it would solve my problem.

My superbike bars' measurements are:

width: 29"
rise: 2.5"
pullback: 4.75"
center width: 4.75"

Those bars, 3-5" wider, would be perfect.

Does anyone know where I might find them?

Someone else might know, but the closest alternatives to Superbike bars that I've looked into are the European style & Daytona style.

Also, you could check into getting longer stemmed mirrors. I don't know how long yours are, but the mirrors on the 80s KZ Standard models are longer than those found on the Ltd & CSR models. Since your bike is a Standard model, they might be long already.

Might be wrong, but thinking that with other dimensions and running conditions equal, wider handlebar could worsen mirror vibration.

Likely already considered packing internally with some form of dampener such as bar snake, sand, lead, silicone, etc.

Sometimes other areas contributing to mirror vibration are things such as tire balance and roundness, motor mounts, steering head bearings, alignment, general engine tune for smoothest running, etc.

And even supposedly identical mirrors may vibrate more or less differently under the same running conditions at various road speeds.

Good Fortune! :)

Where line of sight is the main issue, and mirror vibration isn't an issue, length and bend of the mirror stem in relation to handlebar shape and width are factors, along with whether mirror lens is convex to reveal a larger area in the rear view.

Of course, convex shape doesn't much help when looking at shoulder or elbow.

No eBay APP ID and/or Cert ID defined in Kunena configurationNo eBay APP ID and/or Cert ID defined in Kunena configurationAm uncertain of mirror shape (round vs rectangular) or stem mount position (bottom or center back) or stem length and bend of the mirrors at hand, or whether they might be oem mirrors on the noted model, but here are a couple of ebay pics for comparison.

Try looking at some dirtbike handlebars. I have a set that I purchased at a wrecking yard. They have a very similar bend and rise to the superbike bars, and IIRC they are about 32" wide. I would have to measure them to be sure, and that would need to wait until I got home this evening. I simply cut off the small diameter cross bar so that they didn't look like dirtbike bars. I'm thinking that some of the newer dirtbike bars even have a removable crossbar.

Sean, for grins, shift your' search to "Flat track bars" they're usually @ 32" wide. & come in 3 or 4 different bends. (I have a set of the #2 bends on one of my bikes, & am pleased not only with the feel, but the look..Luck G

When I got my bike, it had the original "longhorn" bars on it, and they really weren't doing it for me. A bike mechanic near me turned me on to Pro Taper SE (Seven-Eighths) bars. He has them installed on all of his track bikes (all newer 1000cc crotch rockets, one is a '03 ninja). They're formed from 5mm wall thickness aluminum, so they're all about some vibration damping. If you go to the Pro Taper website, the SE's are available in a wide variety of widths, heights, and pullbacks, one or more of which should fit your application. Yes they are dirtbike bars, but they have a removable center brace. I left mine on 'cause it makes people say stuff like "hey, those don't go on a streetbike." One last note on the Pro Tapers... The SE's are listed in metric. If you're not familiar with this, multiply inches X 25.4 to arrive at reality in millimeters.

I've got the Pro Taper Ricky Carmichael Bar on my ELR and I love em.

As I ride off road as well, I find them very comfy for the street with zero vibration.
