Dual disc spoke wheel

Id like to know if its possible to add a second disc to the stock 19" front spoke wheel. pardon me if that seems like a stupic question, but I searched and didnt see that info. I like weight difference of spoked wheels over mags, but Id like better braking moreso. Im also considering keeping the stock 19" wheel with the GSXR fork swap im considering over the winter, if thats possible. Just have to machine an axle maybe?

take the cover off the other side and there are bolt holes for a second rotor.
don't know about the gsxr question though

In addition to adding a disk and all the additional plumbing, you'll have to upgrade the brake reservoir from a 1/2" system to a 5/8" system.

Just adding some info for a possible alternative...

The 1981-82 KZ1000-CSRs have 48 spoke wheels w a dual disk front brake & a single disk rear. I have no idea how easy it would be to slap those parts onto your 76 900.

the 76-78 ltd 900-1000 front brake sets go cheap often and come as a whole set....lever ,front master cyl and lines and calipers...then you only need a disk that matches yours....and the two caliper bolts and maybe the four disk bolts...it also depends how many bolts the disk/hub you have now have as to the matchers bolt pattern you buy...


folks run the calipers behind the forks when mounting two disks which mean switching and reversing the right and left fork legs to rotate the dual mounts to the correct side

Now this is on my 750B1, but this is what you will need to do the swap ( Tri stated above everything you need )

My swap was KZ1000 disks, left caliper, lines, spliter, 5/8 bore master. Swapped fork tubes from Left to Right side to get the rearward facing caliper orientation.

killer twin there...very cool...bet you get a lot of folks commenting when you take that one out..nicer than most i see twin 750 kaws imo...!!!!

She is a sweet heart for sure, sold it early this spring to a friend. It's cool though, he lets me take her out on dates if I want LOL.
