750 frame swap
19 Apr 2006 20:08
Hi, I just got two kz's within a week of each other. A guy I work with had a 1980 kz750four that someone left in his back yard and has no clue where the guy went so he told me if I wanted it to come get it or he would take it to the junk. I'm not the kind of guy to pass up free so I went and got it. after some playing aroung I got it to start and it sounds pretty good. Now I'm looking for a fram with papers for it and was wondering if that motor will fit any other size frame or just another 750 frame. Thanks for any help.
Oh, the other is a 1983 550 spectre that I bought from my brother-in-law for $700. Very very nice shape but after rideing it for 12 years he thought it was time for a brand new bike.

I have an 84 KZ700 frame with papers, Im in western masschusetts. I took the engine and put it on a 78 SR650 frame so your 750 should fit no problem, it has the fork tree,no forks,no swingarm, has tail light, I have the tank, seat, handle bars, one side cover, tail, center stand, kick stand, probably some other stuff, if your interested make an offer I like to trade and need the room

Welcome. Add your location and bike models to your signature.
I have a '79 KZ650C frame with title. Lots of parts have been sold off though. I'm in the Great White North.

I'm thinking I would like to find an Ltd frame if any one has one. All I need is the bare frame. I would like to find oneas close to Minnesota as I can to keep the shipping cost down or maybe I can pick-up. I put a picture of both my bikes in the gallery.

The 750 four motor should fit any 650 frame, they share the same bottom end (except for the kick start on some).
