81 KZ1000 CSR

What the???? I got all excited about this free rear rim.
D.I.D. 16" X 3" from a 81 J model CSR.
I start cleaning it and it's got 48 spokes!
Can't lace it to nothing alse.
It's going on ebay or to the scrap aluminum barrel.

Can anyone confirm this rim?
Will be on ebay for $9.99.

My Kawasaki parts cross-reference of all Kawasaki models shows the following for the stock rear rim on your '81 CSR1000 (actually it's a kz1000-M1):

the stock rear rim part # is: 41025-1030
and the description says: RIM, REAR, 3.00 x 16
And my cross-reference shows it was stock on 4 bikes:

1981 Kz650-H1 CSR
1982 Kz620-H2 CSR

1981 Kz1000-M1 CSR
1982 Kz1000-M2 CSR

The stock spokes for this rear wheel only work on the same 4 bikes according to my cross-reference.

Note -- I have found omissions before in my cross-reference, so I'd check with a Kawasaki dealer's parts counter, easy and free to check with a phone call.

Those four CSRs are about it for the 48-spokers. The only other 80's model w wire spoked wheels that I'm aware of is the 82 750-CSR but it's got 40 spokes per wheel.
