best vintage style tires?

I am looking into new tires for spring and wanted some opinions. I am on a 75 Z1 daily rider that goes hard both straight and around the bends. Currently on older Metz Laser's and looking at what tires have that vintage look but are grippy and good for 130mph for a couple minutes at a time. Back is a 400-18.

Avon has vintage tires and Dunlop has them also.

BRIDGESTONE BT 45S

I keep hearing good things about the Bridgestone BT45 tires (battlax). Not real enthusiastic about Dunlops anymore since the one on my front failed early in it's life. Tread blocks just started splitting for no reason. Tire was only one year old from date of manufacture.

Thanks for the input - I am mostly aware of what is available, dunlop, avon - I'm more interested in opinion of tire set ups.

What are the vintage racers using? and I guess no one has tried the Beck tire that I linked to in original message?

the bt45's get good reviews from what i've seen.

The tried and true Dunlop D404's. The tire has been around for like 20 years. Tough, great all around grip, reasonable priced... perfect "vintage" tire as well
