Would anyone happen to know if a shifter off of another bike will work on my 1980 LTD 1000? I JUST replaced my shifter shaft after grinding off the shifter that was welded on and need a replacement. I can order one from Z1 but are there any other models that will get the job done from another bike? I could be wrong but the shifter shaft spline seem comparable to others. e.g. I could use the one off my YZ490 but would rather not. Thoughts?
