1974 KZ 400 Project Questions

I just torn down my new 1974 KZ 400 Project. I am going to see how far I can go with this bike.

I am basically replacing everything I can. I was wondering:

Are there any other Front Ends that will fit the Frame? I want a solid rider. I am not sure if I trust the Triple Trees and forks. I need front brakes anyway, and was thinking something more modern. Is there something that will bolt right on?

Well that actually makes me feel better. I just figured since I was addressing so much why not change.

I guess the other thing is that I bought the bike early on in the project. The kid I bought it from has 440 mag wheels and swing arm. As well as the sprocket from the 400. Not sure if the front forks are from the 440 or the 400. I was thinking of a Bremlo front brake set up but not sure if I can mount it.

I can't figure it out!! I am quiting for now. But it is a disk front. I have calipers from the 400 and the 440 (came in a box of loose parts) one fits, but I am not sure which. I suppose if you feel confident in the forks, you probably feel the same about the brakes. Maybe just a caliper rebuild, new lines and pads.

the biggest single problem on bikes in early 70s was finding decent tires that could hold up to a disc brake!
