Replacing swing arm, need some candidates was created by Kitten Tooth
Im looking to get a crotch rocket swingarm of some sort for my bike to do a streetfighter type thing. I heard the GSXR650 swingarms work pretty good. Really, all im looking for are years and models that have swingarms that will fit in my frame without any cutting(to the frame). Can you guys help me out? Also im looking to lower my bike about 2 to 3 inches. How would i go about that without welding or cutting on the frame?

Thanks guys,
KT

I got a 1995 GSXR 750 swinger in my KZ1000, and I didn't "need" to cut anything, but I did need to add some mounting points. You will need some welding to accomplish it in almost every case. Once you convert to the mono shock setup, lowering the bike is easy. There are two connecting links on the sides of the shock linkage known as dog bones. Just get longer dog bones and you lower the bike.

I think that the easiest swing arm to adapt is the Suzuki GS1100. It will require you to have shock mounts welded to the top of the arm. Z1 actually sells some weld in lower shock mounts. You could get a welding shop to buzz them on for not too much cash.

Did you want to make it a monoshock, or mod the swingarm for duels? If you don't want to do any welding or cutting on the frame, you could wait for irishwill to finish a little something he's working on

If you are looking to keep dual shocks on the bike than a Gs1100, or a Zr750/1100 or a Zrx1100/1200 swing arms will fit with minimal problems and you can keep the dual shocks.
