Managed to lose one of the master cylinder cover screws for my kz650 sr (1979)

Any idea where to find a replacement?

Do you have an Ace Hardware Store nearby? They have a nice selection of Phillips & Socket Head Cap Screws(Allen Head) in Stainless Steel and plated steel in Metric and Imperial(American) threads.

Bring your old screw along for comparison.

If no luck, I use www.boltdepot.com for some screws not carried by Ace Hardware.
