Experts!! Really Hard Question was created by 771000KZ
so I am doing over a 77 KZ 1000. I got it in pieces and the rims were kinda crap, I have a 80 GS750 parts bike and the rims are great and have new tires, bearings and balance ect, so I am going to use them, I got them all bolted up and shimmed to center etc.

here it the hard question, I have to use the GS speedo drive will it read true with the KZ speedometer? or will I have to use a GS speedo or after market speedo? I'd like to know before I spend the times retoring the gauges.

Thanks guys!

I'm pretty sure the speedo drives of that era all have the same internal ratio so it should be fine.

thx. no another hard one (i think). what is the stock sprocket for the rear, with the suzy rear tire I have to use the suzy sprocket which is like 44 or 45 teeth, the one on the KZ hub has only 33 (which isn't stock is it?) and the front is 15 teeth (630 chain). What is the proper teeth for a rear sprocket?

33T rear would be for LTD with 16" wheel or someone swapped the 35 for a 33 to drop RPM a little.

Measure circumference of the rear tire and I'll give you your exact MPH in whatever gear you want with RPM of the motor..
