Adding fork oil
15 Apr 2006 08:17
This morning I set out to change my fork oil. I have the Kawasaki shop manual and it says after you drain the oil refill it by removing the rubber plug on top. I removed the rubber plug , but there is no hole there. Just metal.
Now i have a bike with no fluid in the fork and of course its going to be 75 degrees today.
Any help?

If the plug is not square find a bolt that will fit in the plug. I have to make a removal tool using a bolt with a nut welded on it. If you don't have a welder use two nuts and "jam" them so you can back the plug out.
It is also a good idea to flush the tubes out. You wouldn't believe how dirty they will be. Roy

I figured it out.
You need to press down on the flat piece of round metal with a large screwdriver while someone else gets a small pick and removes the snap ring.
