Master Cylinder Interchange? 82 KZ550

I've got an 82 Kz550LTD and I just put a set of drag bars on, but I can't install the front brake lever b/c the master cylinder is about 4.5" long and won't fit on the bars without covering my gauges. Is there another bike with a much small MC I could swap on and have it work with my front brake? Thanks for any help and my newbie question.

You can use a Fr brake mc from just about any Japanese bike, including modern models.
The basic criteria: single or dual disk, mount angle, mirror orifice, 7/8' bars. The brake light wiring may have to be spliced - no big deal. Some don't have a mirror orifice.

So basically, as long as I get a single disk MC with a flat mounting angle for 7/8" bars, I'm good then? (gonna use a bar end mirror) All the newer bikes are gonna have small MC with remote reservoirs correct?

Does anybody else have any experience in this?? I'm new to bikes and don't have a clue as what to look for..... I know somebody out this has GOT to have done this before. I'm ready to get started on my bike and this MC and levers are what I need to get started. Please help
