1979 kz750b twin...fork allen bolts

Topic search tells about using air impact wrench to spin bolts out. No mention of the bit to use. My gun is 1/2" drive. Is everybody using a standard 1/2" drive metric hex socket, or should a socket for use with impact wrench be used? Thanks.
