And another thing...if you do come across the fairing mounts for sale separately, be advised that some sellers don't realize that the 1981/2/3 GPz550 fairing mounts are not the same as the GPz750/1100 fairing mounts, but will tell you so. I speak from a position of strength :)

Sorry, guys. Seems like you got some kind of shortage of ELR´s there.

Well, check the pic below. I counted 6 ELR´s in 2010 Imatra RR memorials last july. Three of them overnited at´the same place, mine and another R2 and one 1100R. Those 3 others some how got some blue-white striping on them. Wonder why.... The 2 10R´s are my brothers and a friends of ours and the 6R belongs to an old friend of too... :woohoo:

Maybe the flag was some sort of weird 'lure' and it attracted them?!?!?! Hmmm...so if I put up a Japanese battle flag in my garage, I might get an ELR to stop?!?!?!

A buddy of mine just sold his off his 81. he ended up getting a fairing off of a zrx. looks very proportionate.

Thanks for all the good info. I do not officially have the bike in my garage yet, as soon as I do I will put the fairing that I have on the bike and see if it covers the large gauge pod. If it doesn't then I will start looking at my options. I will add a ZRX to my ebay search

What did it go for on EBay (PM me if you would prefer it kept quiet)? I sort of keep track of what things sell for.

don't get the maier fairing with the square hole that looks like a GPz fairing. I got one and it is made of really brittle plastic that cracks easily; I would assume the stockers are made of abs that is stronger.
