Re-Chroming Forks was created by MentalMike
Can anyone recommend a good shop that can re-chrome pitted and rusted forks?

Obviously cost and turn around time is important, but quality is most important.

Thanks

Mike

Hi Mike, the cost is going to be the issue. The chroming process is just part of the work. After they've been chromed, they have to be machined to get them to the correct tolerance.

I have seen new replacement fork tubes on the net for just over $100.

It is more expensive to have them re-chromed than it is to get new ones.

I assume you're talking about the upper (inner) tubes. Which bike are you working on? Ed

Thanks for the links fellas.

I'm starting the resto on my 85 GPZ900. See pic before I started breaking her apart.

Might be better waiting for a good pair to pop up on feebay. Problem is I've been looking, but no such luck. I still have time so we'll see.
