I recently came across a bike that has been sitting for 27 years and am trying to get it up and running. Here's the original thread.

As a side note, i'm looking to remedy the situation that the suspension is in. See Below:

i'm assuming I should just find a set of shocks with a clevis mount. I would like some more suggestions though!

Cheers,

Kyle

We used GS 1100 shocks and fabbed spacers for the top mounts to install on my MKll frame.

....well since I started the trouble about this in the other thread I will offer a suggestion. One of my 550's came to me with an aftermarket swingarm that had clevis mounts. The previous owner had removed the eye mounts that were welded on the shocks and replaced them with a clevis type mount. It was a neat and clean job that was barely noticeable. the shocks in your pic are some brand of aftermarket shocks that would be well worth fabbing to fit the GS arm. You can take them apart, do the mod and rebuild and repaint them while you are at it.

Heres a picture. Never mind the rust....it cleaned up with some scotchbrite. The black shocks that you have would be much easier to refinish than my chrome Konis.
(I recently sold this pair of shocks on Ebay)

Heres a better picture (after I cleaned up the rust). Looks like they used a piece of off the rack steel stock.

Very Dangerous.
You can use GS1100 shocks which will lower the rear end a bit or you can use Gold Wing shocks which will raise the rear about 1/2". I use the Gold Wing shocks on my bike.

those all look good! I will likely try to find some shocks that will fit. I don't have the tools to do the modifications to the current ones.

Shocks for '79-83 CB750F, 900 and 1100's should work also. I replaced the modified Konis above w/Ohlins from a CB900F
