Mysterious Z1 frame tab

What's this frame tab for?

if there is one on both sides,maybe an oil cooler mount. If only that one side, maybe a fork brace mount.Or,maybe something else.bj

It's an attachment tab for a reflector.

I take it back...my Z2 frame has it there also...with nothing in it :dry:

Thats what I was thinking. My 650 has the reflectors on the frame but never paid any attention to my Z1 since the reflectors are on the forks and rear shocks

It's for a steering damper.

There is a corresponding hole in the triple tree for the other end.

I don't suggest using the bracket without beefing it up. The bracket is really too flimsy and it will break off if you hit any serious bumps...
