Tire Tread Blocks Separating? was created by bountyhunter
I was looking close at my front tire which has only about 2k miles on it (less than two years old) and saw hairlines running down the face of the tread. I attached a picture. Since they are in exactly the same place on each tread block, what is it? These are not old tires, the date code shows they are about 3 years old and always had great care (never parked outside). The lines run all the way around the tire, only seem to be in the very middle.

Anybody seen lines like this? Is it possibly a molding seam?

BTW, I believe it's a Dunlop 404 if anybody cares.

Doesnt look like a molding line, as it doesnt line up perfectly around the tire.

I think I would question the manufacturer about this, as it may be a recalled defect or somthing...
