Rear LTD fender
28 Jul 2010 11:16
I just saw a post from another member of a 1000 LTD that he had just gotten. It had the, what I'll call, older style back fender. It has the chrome fender like my 82 550 and 80 750 LTD has, but it also has that extra little cowl that comes out above the chrome fender. (similar to the Z1 on the logo for the KZrider site)
is there a way to fit one of these setups to the kind of set up I have without a TON of mods? I really like the looks of these!

You mean the rear plastic tailpiece that the standard Z or KZ1000 has?
1980 LTD (changed over the years), 1979 LTD (being rebuilt), 1977 KZ turbo and various KZ's in various states of build. KLX110

Someone here on KZR fitted a ducktail to his KZ650-CSR which is the same as the 750-Ltd-4 in regards to frame, seat, & fenders. The bike ought to be in the member's gallery, but I couldn't find it. I don't recall any specifics, though.
A while back, I raised the seat on my CSR to see how a ducktail could be fitted, then I went to the salvage yard to see what might work, but kinda decided against the idea. Fabrication isn't my forte & I figured I'd leave well enough alone.

Racer54, I was talking about something similar to the fender you have on your avatar... Like the duckbill one... Not the big square one. It's been a while since I posted this thread, but I think I saw it on a late 70's 1000 LTD....
